What is physiotherapy?

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist?

No referral is required to see a physiotherapist in Ontario. However, some insurance plans may require one for reimbursement. It’s always a good idea to check with your provider.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first appointment includes a detailed assessment where the physiotherapist will review your medical history, evaluate your movement and symptoms, and develop a personalized treatment plan. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your condition, severity, and how your body responds to treatment. Your physiotherapist will give you an estimate and update the plan as you progress.

Is physiotherapy painful?

Some treatments or exercises may cause mild discomfort, especially when targeting injured or tight areas. However, physiotherapists work within your comfort zone and will always aim to reduce pain — not increase it.

Do you offer direct billing to insurance?

Yes, we offer direct billing to most extended health insurance providers. Please bring your insurance details to your first appointment for easy processing.

What conditions can physiotherapy help with?

Physiotherapy can help with musculoskeletal injuries, post-surgical rehab, chronic pain, sports injuries, arthritis, neurological disorders, pelvic floor dysfunction, pediatric issues, and more.

Can physiotherapy help prevent injuries?

Absolutely! Physiotherapists are trained to identify movement patterns and muscle imbalances that can lead to injury. Preventive physiotherapy can keep you active and injury-free.

Is physiotherapy covered by OHIP?

Physiotherapy is not covered under OHIP in most private clinics. However, some patients may qualify for OHIP-funded physiotherapy under specific conditions at designated clinics. We are a private clinic and do not currently offer OHIP-covered services.
